Elves are no smaller
than men, and walk
as men do, in this world,
but with more grace than most,
and are not immortal.
Their beauty sets them aside
from other men and from women
unless a woman has that cold fire in her
called poet: with that
she may see them and by its light
they know her and are not afraid
and silver tongues of love
flicker between them.
- The Elves, Denise Levertov
She walks gently into the night. She is one of THEM. They are not ordinary elves. They do not appear in toy shops, not even in Santa's. They are mysterious creatures. They come in the night and they go in the night...ever so silently, ever so gently. They come bearing messages to children, young and old. Their message is not of "brown paper packages tied up with strings, cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels, doorbells and sleigh bells." Their messages are that which is made of love and kindness.
THEY are The Kindness Elves. And SHE is one of them.
